Stacee & Adam got married on 5th August 2017 at Sketchley Grange Hotel. I had the pleasure of sharing the day with them and the extremely early start!!! Being the makeup artist for the day I arrived at Sketchley Grange at 6am in the morning to a very excited Bride and some tired bridesmaids! Stacee has modelled for us at shows since choosing her dress so it was so wonderful to be involved in her Big Day. Stacee & Adams day was full of fun. Stacee had lego themed centrepieces and little lego people holding balloons for the name placecards which were super cute!
Stacee’s Story….
The Love Story
We met by accident in 2010 through friends who knew each other, so while they were talking we started to get to know each other. It was a short lived romance and after we went our separate ways I found out I was pregnant. Adam was busy working away and felt he was too young to be a father at the time so I decided to carry on with the pregnancy and that I would bring up the child on my own. I gave birth to a little boy, Harvey. It was hard being a single parent and there were a number of times I wished I had someone there to help when times were hard and to enjoy the good. My wish soon came true when Adam got back into contact with me. After that first drink I knew he was the man I was going to spend the rest of my life with. We had or ups and downs while getting to know each other again and this time having a child in the mix it was much harder. Adam then moved in a few months after we got back together making a new lot of issues to deal with. We then got engaged on Adams birthday a year later in front of all of our family. He is my best friend and my soul mate I don’t know where I would be without him and our son. If we can look past a few years apart we can get through anything together and look forward to what ever life throws at us.
The Dress…
When I first went dress shopping I was not sure what I wanted, all I knew was that I wanted to look and feel like a princess. I tried on a number of dresses that were all so beautiful but not the one. Being a larger bride I felt that I would not find one that would be perfect and felt I may have to compromise with my expectations, but when I walked into Sammie Lou the choice especially for larger girls was amazing and so many to pick from. The dress I finally decided on made me feel so beautiful. I chose a dress from the White Rose Graceful collection that had a big beautiful skirt, a fitted top and a gorgeous long train, it had some lace on the top half of it and a small bit of sparkle on the right hand side, I also had some straps added that gave it a little extra sparkle. As soon as I put the dress on I felt like a princess. The big skirt spun round as I danced the night away and made me feel amazing.
Stacee’s most memorable memories from her Big Day…..
The whole day was so memorable I am not sure I can pick just one moment, from not sleeping the night before so me and all my maids got into one bed and just chatted, laughed and watched say yes to the dress. Getting ready and having a laugh. Opening the present and card sent from Adam that made me cry. The first moment I saw my son and my dad in my dress. Waiting outside the room to walk down the aisle, that moment you get butterflies as your excited and scared, but cant wait for the first time you see your groom waiting for you. The rain (my god it poured), the photos in the rain, the thunderstorm. Then it was so beautiful and we could get the confetti shoot outside, it was all in my mouth and down my dress but it looked amazing. The bouncy castle was so much fun, just acting like a child jumping around with your friends. The food was so good, we had a BBQ in the evening with doughnuts for after. Then dancing the night away.
