Mr and Mrs Hackney have whisked themselves off to Veranda Pointe Aux Biches, Mauritius for an intimate ceremony for just the two of them. Lucky for Jade she got to wear her stunning St. Patrick gown twice at her second wedding celebrating with all of her friends and family at The Glyn Clydach Hotel, Neath.
The Dress…
After visiting numerous bridal shops in Swansea, and trying on hundreds of dresses, I was getting anxious I was never going to find THE ONE! I then spoke with Sammie who I knew through a family member, I took the 4 hour drive to Sammie’s beautiful shop. From the moment I walked in I felt so welcome and special, and they also made my bridal party feel the same! After bubbles and cupcakes I started trying on dresses! Sammie definitely saved the best till last, it wasn’t even zipped up and I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror, my throat closed up and the tears started! I got that feeling everyone had been telling me about, I knew it was the one. The whole dress shopping experience I received from Sammie Lou Bridal was outstanding and I would highly recommend.
The Love Story…
I met Lewis on my first day of collage, he was in my class and we instantly became best friends. For the next 2 years we were inseparable, it was the day before we broke up for Christmas we became ‘boyfriend and girlfriend’ and we have never looked back since…although it did take him 11 years to finally pop the question!!
The proposal was going to happen in Thailand, when he was going to pretend to start choking on the famous fried scorpions then have the ring in his hand…after too much sun and probably one too many beers on the last bank holiday of the year, he decided to tell me he had my engagement ring in the house for 6 weeks!! I wouldn’t believe him until I saw it, so after waiting all those years, I was make up-less on the sofa in my pjs!! Despite knowing he was going to do it, I was still a mess and it didn’t sink in for at least a week I was finally going to be a wife.
The Most Memorable Moment…
I was lucky enough to have two weddings. Lewis and I said from the day we got together all those years ago it would be just me, him and a beach. We chose Mauritius as we love traveling and it was always on the bucket list. My favorite memory from this day was seeing Lewis’s face seeing me in my dress for the first time.
We then planned a ‘party’ for back in the UK… that turned into a second wedding! Both my Dad and Step Dad walked me down the isle, followed by my beautiful bridesmaids. My Nan and Uncle both vicars, gave us a blessing. Then we ate and partied the night away. My favorite memory from this day was having all our friends and families together in one place enjoying themselves and of course getting to wear my dress again.
