Emma and Ronnie were married on April 7th at St Mary the Virgin Church in Staverton, followed by a beautiful reception at one of our favourite rustic venues Skylark Farm.

The Dress
Sammie Lou Bridal was the only shop I went to I live in Abu Dhabi so I had limited time and I heard amazing things. I had a list of things I liked in my head, no puffy dresses, no tulle, no strapless etc. Sammie took me around the shop and we pulled around 10 dresses, including one I was not overly keen on… we tried on the dresses and I was pretty decisive. When I tried on Sammies option I was in love, I think I kept saying I love love love it. It was s Justin Alexander cap sleeve v neck fit and flare Chantilly lace wedding dress (8858), the detail on the dress was amazing and the illusion back just seemed to melt into my skin tone. it was just perfect and made me feel great, that was that I was done. No more dress shopping. Sammie paired the dress with an Enzoani veil which had a lace trim to match the dress. I just felt like a bride. My whole experience was amazing and I wish I could wear it everyday.

The Love Story…
In December 2015 I attended the military winter ball as a guest of my twin sister who is an Officer in the Army. Ronnie is Zoe’s friend and I had always told her how nice he sounded and questioned why was she not interested, luckily for me she was not because that night it was essentially love at first site. Ronnie will give a full blown tale of how I caught his eye across the room and he knew he had to speak with me. I give a 10 second story which is not as romantic but when he did come over after schmoozing with my parents that was that we spent the rest of the evening talking.
From then we messaged all day everyday and everyone knew who I was talking to as I always had such a huge grin on my face. The weekend after we met he took me for our first date in The Countryman in Staverton (where we had our pre wedding meal), he found it himself which I was impressed by as he does not live in Northamptonshire. We spent a lot of time dating and getting to know each other because we both had made it clear we had our own personal objectives to achieve I wanted to go work in the Middle East and Ronnie could always be posted overseas. It seemed like fate that his parents were actually living in Abu Dhabi and he was so supportive of me going and working there we decided to make it official because essentially we were best friends at this point.
The next thing I know I am in Abu Dhabi and we continue to go from strength to strength, it was very hard being apart but we had Skype conversations everyday and every 3 months we made sure we saw each other. In March 2017 Ronnie came to visit. At this point I was living in Etihad Towers and my apartment looked out to sea so the scenery was beautiful, we had a meal planned the evening and we always get ready early for pre drinks, Ronnie had bought my favourite wine Malbec with him. Just as I was putting the finishing touches on my hair I hear mine and Ronnies song play “how long will I love you” from About Time (our favourite movie and themed a lot of the music choices for our wedding), I turned around and Ronnie was on one knee, we cant remember what he said but we both realised he didn’t actually ask me to marry him so the next morning he asked me properly. It was totally unexpected and the ring was a beautiful white gold ring with a diamond in the centre and a channel band with 14 smaller diamonds, my lucky number and also my birthday. Everything about it was so thought through and meaningful I wouldn’t have had it any other way.
Then we commenced with wedding planning, we decided to get married within a year as we didn’t see the need for a long engagement and set our date for 7 April 2018. The year flew by. On the morning of our wedding I was just so excited, not nervous at all because Ronnie is my best friend and there is no one else I would commit to spend the rest of my life with. Our wedding day was the best day ever and I wish I could live the day over and over again.
Now I am back from Abu Dhabi, we have our first home and cant wait to make lots more special memories together.

Emma’s Most Memorable Part Of Her Big Day..
Honestly the day just flew by there were so many amazing memories and we wish we could do it all again. Favourite wedding day memory however for me had to be when we left the church and sun just started shining, the church bells were ringing, we walked through the guard of honour and then we got sprinkled with confetti and I just remember feeling so content to see all our family and friends there and I think every photo Ronnie and I are just smiling with the biggest grins. I was so content and whatever else happened that day it did not matter.
